Partnering for Project Success
26 years of hands-on communications infrastructure experience — combining field knowledge with project coordination, construction support, and practical execution.
Company Overview
Field Knowledge Meets Organized Coordination
Light & Tone brings 26 years of hands-on communications infrastructure experience. Background includes fiber, copper, structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage infrastructure, field operations, construction, and project execution.
They combine field knowledge with organized project coordination — understanding both the work being performed and the scheduling, documentation, communication, and follow-through required to keep it moving.
"We are not simply an administrative resource. We bring practical infrastructure experience to the coordination process, so project leaders can make decisions with better information and field teams can stay focused on delivery."
Our Services
Two Services, Clearly Separated
Consulting and construction are different kinds of work, with different risks, different pricing, and different buyers. A client can buy one without the other; each track has its own scope, price, and agreement; both can be used together but are contracted separately.
Track 1
Consulting & Project Coordination
For organizations whose projects are growing faster than the coordination capacity around them — experienced infrastructure judgment plus organized follow-through, without adding a full-time employee.
What This Track Covers
Consulting Services in Detail — As-Builts, Redlines & Permits
As-Builts
Light & Tone prepares as-built documentation from field redlines, measurements, and data supplied by field teams, in the format agreed with the Client, and compiles it into the closeout package.
Redlines
Light & Tone compiles, reviews, and organizes field redlines showing what was actually built versus what was designed, and tracks redline submission and approval.
Right-of-Way Permits
Light & Tone prepares permit applications, submits them on the Client's behalf when authorized in writing, and tracks approvals with the applicable agency (for example, MoDOT, county, or city). Permit fees are the Client's cost, billed at cost, and permit approval is not guaranteed.
These are consulting services under this track — field construction itself remains Track 2, scoped separately. Time spent on as-built, redline, and permit consulting is professional service time deducted from the Client's monthly service allocation, the same as other Track 1 services. Large as-built or permit packages that would exceed the monthly allocation are scoped and agreed in advance.
What This Track Does NOT Cover
Hands-on installation, splicing, pulling, or termination in the field. That is Track 2, scoped and priced separately. Coordination hours are not field labor hours.
Monthly Coordination Tiers
| Tier | Monthly Capacity | Monthly Fee | Effective Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation | Up to 30 hours / month | $2,250 | $75 / hour |
| Professional | Up to 60 hours / month | $4,200 | $70 / hour |
| Enterprise | Up to 100 hours / month | $6,500 | $65 / hour |
Flat monthly fee for up to the tier's hours. Additional coordination hours are billed at that tier's hourly equivalent.
Hours do not carry over to the next month.
30-Day Coordination Pilot
Run one month at the tier you select, then review together whether ongoing or expanded support makes sense. The pilot is a paid month at that tier, not a free trial.
Track 2
Construction Support
For contractors and owners who need experienced hands in the field, on a specific project, for a specific period. This track is not a monthly retainer — it is scoped, quoted, and contracted per project.
What This Track Covers
How It Is Priced
Per project, after a scope review. Price depends on site conditions, scope, schedule, materials, and crew needs, so a monthly retainer rate cannot fairly price it. A written project quote covers labor, schedule, and what is included and excluded, before work starts.

Travel, Customer Meetings & Expenses
These provisions are not tier-specific; the tier only decides retainer hours. Travel sits outside that.
Customer Interaction
Time meeting, communicating, or coordinating with the Client's customers, vendors, contractors, or stakeholders is professional service time deducted from the monthly allocation.
Travel Time
When Light & Tone travels at the Client's request, travel time is billed separately at 50% of the applicable professional hourly rate, and does not reduce the monthly allocation. There is no free or uncompensated travel.
Travel Expenses
Billed separately from the monthly fee, at cost (mileage, airfare, lodging, meals, parking, tolls), receipts provided on request. Personal-vehicle mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard business mileage rate.
Advance Authorization
Extended or overnight travel must be approved by the Client in advance, in writing; Light & Tone will make reasonable efforts to estimate travel time and expenses beforehand.
Worked Example — Professional Tier
4 hours travel each way to a customer meeting + 2 hours in the meeting = 8 travel hours billed at 50% of the $70 Professional rate ($35/hr) = $280.
The 2 meeting hours deduct from the monthly allocation.
Mileage and approved expenses billed separately.

Who We Serve
About the Principal
Brad Baker
Brad Baker built his career from the ground up — laborer, operator, splicer, fiber and copper construction and splicing, fiber-to-the-home, data centers, and networking including routers and switches — and has trained Marines and Army personnel on fiber and copper infrastructure.
That field background is what Light & Tone brings to both tracks: coordination that understands the work, and field support that understands the project.

Next Step
A Better Project Conversation
If you have a project that is growing faster than the coordination capacity around it, Light & Tone can help identify where additional experience and support will have the greatest impact.
Next step: a 15–20 minute conversation to learn about your current project environment, understand where pressure is building, and determine which track — coordination, construction, or both, separately — fits.
